통영항의 대표적인 어시장인 서호시장. 해방 직후인 1946년부터 시작되어 통영인들의 애환을 함께해 온 어시장으로 특히 새벽 활어시장이 유명하다. 통영 바다에서 잡히는 굴, 우럭, 물메기, 고등어 등 다양한 어류를 볼 수 있고 그 외에도 대장간골목이 있어 옛 정취를 느낄 수 있다. 충무김밥, 시락국 등 시장 내에 즐길 음식도 다양해서 눈과 입이 즐거워진다.
