안압지
경북 경주시 인왕동 26
통일신라시대 별궁 안에 있던 곳으로, 그 안에는 임해전을 비롯한 여러 부속 건물과 정원이 있었다.
신라 문무왕 14년에 궁 안에 못을 파고 산을 만들어 화초를 심고 귀한 새와 기이한 짐승들을 길렀다.
임해전은 별궁에 속해 있던 건물이지만 그 비중이 매우 컸던 것으로 보이며, 주로 연회의 장소로 쓰였다. 안압지는 신라 원지를 대표하는 유적이다. 안압지의 야경은 또 다른 분위기를 선사한다.
