바로 도시의 온도와 습도를 조절해주고 다시 모여든 물고기와 새들로 인해 친근한
자연환경을 느낄 수 있게 해주는 고마운 생태하천 때문.
생태하천은 하천주변의 모든 생물들이 상호작용을 통해 자정능력을 갖춘 하천을 말
한다.
불과 50년 전만 해도 어디서나 볼 수 있었던 맑은 강과 하천. 그러나 급격한 산업화
와 무분별한 개발로 우리의 강과 하천은 죽어만 갔는데..
죽음의 강에서 다시 살아난 울산의 태화강!
1970년대 공업도시로 지정되면서 산업폐수와 생활오수에 의해 급속도로 오염되었
던
태화강. 2000년 6월에는 물고기가 떼죽음 당하기도 했었는데..
현재는 1급수의 수질을 자랑하며 때마다 전어떼와 연어가 찾아와
낚시꾼들을 즐겁게하고 있다, 또한 철마다 천연기념물로 지정된 철새들이 찾는 것도
태화강의 특징인데~! 이제는 울산 시민들의 명소가 된 태화강을 찾아가
태화강을 살리기 위해 어떤 노력들이 이루어졌는지 알아본다.
뿐만 아니라 도심의 하수구에서 자연형 생태하천으로 바뀐 안양의 학의천을
찾아가 다양한 수생식물이 자유롭게 자라나고
이로인해 생태계가 완전히 복원된 현장을 공개!
