남사 예담촌

우리나라에서 드문 높은 옛담들이 살아있는 예담촌.
전통과 예를 중요시 하는 마을의 단정한 마음가짐을 담아가자는 의미와 오랜 세월을 묵묵히 지켜온 옛 담의 신비로움이 있다하여 예담촌이란 마을 이름을 짓게 되었다고 한다.
이 마을에선 꼭 보고 가야 할 것이 있는데 그것은 바로 X자로 뻗어 자란 450년된 회화나무.
이곳 나무들은 100년이란 세월은 우스울 정도로 450년 된 회화나무와 이순신장군이 걸었던 백의종군로! 이순신 장군이 삼도수군 통제사 직에서 박탈당한 뒤 사향선고를 받았다가 감형이 되서 백의종군하기 위해 권율 도원수 진영으로 가던 길을 말한다.
이순신 장군은 관직에서 박탈 당한 뒤 휜 옷을 입은 채 생활하였다고 해서 백의 종군이라고 부른다고. 길을 따라 과거로 함께 떠나보자.
그 옛스러운 정취에 흠뻑 취해 걷다보면 어느 새 먼 옛날 과거의 길에서 서성이고 있는 나를 발견할지도......
