갓난아이에서부터 할머니, 할아버지 쌍둥이에 쌍둥이들끼리 겹사돈을 맺는 일까지 그야말로 마을은 온통 쌍둥이들 천지. 그 이유에 대한 추측도 난무하다. 미스테리 식수에서 견과류 위주의 식습관, 베트남전 당시 투하된 고엽제와 폭탄이 원인라는 설까지... 하지만 정확한 이유는 며느리도 모르는 미스테리! 얼마 전 MIT 공대에서 이 쌍둥이 마을의 원인을 규명하기 위해 방문하기도 했다는데.
수많은 과학자들의 노력에도 불구하고 아직까지 정확한 원인을 규명하지 못했다고. 쌍둥이라서 생기는 갖가지 에피소드 또한 쌍둥이들 수만큼 다양하다는 베트남 쌍둥이 마을을 비밀을 밝혀본다.
