우리의 아름다운 섬을 찾아 여행하는 그 섬이 가고싶다.
첫 번째 여행지로 택한 곳은 바람의 섬, 비금도 큰 새가 날아가는 모양을 하고 있어 비금도라 이름이 지어진 이곳에서 여행을 시작했다.
먼저 하트 해변이라고 알려진 하누넘 해수욕장과 고운 모래가 십리쯤 뻗어 있어 명사십리라고도 이름 붙여진 원평해수욕장을 찾아 맨발로 걸어보며 비경을 감상했다.
성치산에 올라가서 반만 남은 성치 산성을 구경하고 성치산성처럼 돌로 담을 쌓은 돌담길을 따라 동네 어르신과 만나 이야기를 나눠본다. 밭에는 비금도 시금치 섬초가 자라는 모습도 쉽게 볼 수 있다고.
비금도하면 제일 유명한 이것! 소금, 천일염. 우리나라에서 제일 먼저 소금을 만들었다는 비금도는 그 명성에 맞게 함초도 포함하고 게르마늄이 풍부해 많은 사랑을 받는단다.
