하지키(土師器)에서 더 단단하고 질좋은 스에키(須惠器)로.
일상생활에서 사용하던 토기에서부터 철을 생산하고, 도구를 만드는 것까지 문화적인 르네상스를 맞게 된 고대의 일본. 대표적인 일본의 스포츠인 스모도 가야계 인물인 노미스쿠네가 시작한 것이다.
그는 사람을 함께 묻는 순장 대신 하니와(埴輪) 제도를 생각해내 천황으로부터 土師 성(姓)을 받는다.
하니와란 무덤에 사람 대신 함께 묻었던 토기. 그의 후손들인 하지(土師)씨들의 흔적은 아직까지도 일본에 남아있다.
가야는 멸망했지만 가야인들은 일본의 역사와 전설, 지명에까지 고스란히 남아 그 맥을 잇고 있었다!
한반도에서 사라진 가야의 역사, 그 이후의 이야기가 펼쳐진다.
