섬사람들의 가장 큰 재산은 우리나라 최대의 감성돔 산란처라는 것!
섬사람들의 주요 수입원이 되기도 하지만 낚시터로도 각광을 받고 있다.
또한 기암괴석들이 섬주위에 흩어져 있고 그 모습들이 천태만상의 변화가 무쌍해 신들이 노는 곳이라 불리어진다.
금오도에 글린 김에 금오열도 끝자락에 위치한 연도를 들려보는데...
해안은 대부분이 깍아지를 듯한 낭떠러지를 이루어 오랜 풍화작용으로 기암절벽의 절경을 이루고 있는데 그 모습이 인상적인 곳!
동물 및 사물의 모양을 닮은 빼어난 자연경관이 많은데, 동물 형상을 하고 있는 코끼리바위, 물개바위, 하늘담 뱀대가리와
연도 용단 콧구멍 바위 등은 보는 이로 하여금 감탄을 연발케 하며 1910년 5월 10일 전국에서 21번째로 설치된 소리도 등대 또한 연도의 자랑거리이다.
하얀색의 등대건물과 푸른 잔디밭, 수줍은 듯 서있는 여인의 조각상은 깨끗하고 편안한 인상을 주며 이곳에서 내려다보는 경치 또한 천하일경이라 할 수 있다.
