백제 역사의 흔적이 남아 있는 영광. 인도승 마라난타가 중국의 동진 지역을 거쳐 백제에 불교를 전하면서 최초로 발을 디딘 곳인 영광 법성포. 그런 의미에서 법성(法聖)이라는 이름이 붙은 것이라고. 이를 기념하기 위해 만들어진 백제불교최초도래지에는 마라난타의 업적을 기리기 위한 다양한 불교조각과 불상들이 전시되어 있다. 이국적인 정취를 내는 백제불교최초도래지~. 영광의 대표적인 명소로 각광받고 있다.
