요즘 전국의 하천들이 몸살을 앓고 있다!
퇴적물이 쌓여 방치되어 있는 하천에는 생활쓰레기와 오수로 악취가 심하고, 또한 토종어류를 잡아먹는 외래어종, 블루길로 수중 생태계가 위협받고 있는 상황!
이런 하천을 살리기 위해 방방곡곡 마을 주민들이 기발한 아이디어로 발 벗고 나섰다는데..
충남논산의 한 마을에선 수질을 정화하기 위해 부레옥잠을 하천에 띄운다~?!
부레옥잠은 물속의 질소나 인 등을 흡수해 BOD를 80%이상 저감시키는 수질정화 능력이 탁월한 수생식물이라는데!
마을 주민들은 대나무뗏목으로 부레옥잠을 띄우는 활동을 하는데 열심이다~
또한 축사에서 나오는 오폐수는 강으로 나가기 전까지 3단계를 거치게 되는데..
이런 기능이 있는 인공습지를 조성하여 체계적인 수질정화를 위해 노력한다!
영산강유역에서는 우리나라 토종어류를 잡아먹는 블루길 퇴치사업을 주기적으로 시행하여 우리나라 수종 생태계를 보호하는데 앞장서고 있고!
충남 청양에서는, 해충을 먹어치우고 흙물을 일으켜 산소도 공급해 줄 뿐 아니라 잡초도 크지 못하게 하는 역할을 하는 미꾸라지로 수질을 정화한다!
미꾸라지를 양식하여 농가수입을 증대하고 친환경농법으로 환경에 일조하는 일석이조의 효과를 누리고 있다!
큰 강으로 흘러들어가는 하천을 정비하고 관리하는 일이
우리 강을 살리는 일임을 알고 꾸준히 노력하는 각 마을을 찾아가 보았다!
