옛날 방식 그대로 갯벌에서 천일염을 재배하기 때문에 다른 소금들과는 차별화 된다.
보통 여름에 천일염 재배를 하는데 겨울에는 일명 “노다지”라 불리는 염전 뒤엎기를 한다!
다음 해에 더 좋은 소금을 얻기 위한 신의도 주민들의 노고를 함께 한다~
또한 갯벌이 발전된 섬이다보니!
겨울에도 갯벌엔 먹을 거리가 가득~ 특히 제일 유명한 건 신의도 갯낙지!
싱싱한 낙지! 그 맛 또한 과연 일품~ 천일염의 고장
