하늘재 인근에 있는 하늘농장은 문경사과축제 체험농가 중 한 곳으로 완숙된 사과만을 수확하여 100% 직거래를 하고 있다. 축제기간 중에 방문하면 사과따기 체험 뿐 아니라 이 마을에 도예가들이 살고 있어 도예체험까지 즐길 수 있는 장점이 있다. 홍옥, 후지 등 알려진 사과품종 외에도 알프스 오토메라는 자두크기만한 사과와 앵두크기의 꽃사과도 있어 체험객들의 눈을 사로잡는데...... 알프스 오토메는 비타민C 함량이 일반사과의 10배에 이를 정도로 몸에도 좋은 식용사과다. 작아서 앙증맞은 꽃사과는 영양적인 면에 우수하지만 너무 신 맛이 강해서 효소나 술로 담가 먹고 주로 사과농가에서는 꽃가루받이용 수정수로 쓰인다. 하늘농장 경우, 알프스 오토메와 꽃사과는 판매하지 않는다.
