우리나라에도 저탄소 녹색성장을 주도하여 환경과 지역경제 두 토끼를 잡은 도시들 이 있다는 반가운 이야기가 들려오는데..
대한민국 그린시티를 이끌어나갈 대표 도시, 대전과 함평으로 떠나보자!
나비축제로 그린시티의 반열에 들어선 전남의 함평!
함평군은 2004년에 그린시티로 선정될 만큼 이미 녹색바람이 불고 있는 도시. 무공해 청정지역에서만 살 수 있다는 나비는 이제 함평을 대표하는 이미지이다. 함평군은 초등학교 교과서에 나올 정도로 유명해진 나비축제로 전국 관광객 1200명을 유치하여 1500억의 경제적효과를 보았다!
또한 함평군은 나비축제와 더불어 함평만의 갯벌체험학습장을 운영하여 무공해 청정지역에 걸맞는 그린시티의 자리를 확고히 다져가는 것 뿐만 아니라 친환경기업만을 유치하고 무농약 친환경 농업 지원정책을 펼치는 노력을 통하여 지역주민들과 지자체가 함께 유기농 생태도시를 만들어가고 있다.
그린으로 승부를 거는 도시, 대전!
대전은 국내최대규모를 자랑하는 인공수목원인 한밭수목원을 조성하여 녹지공간을 확장하는 것에 앞장서고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 2007년부터 시작한 나무심기 운동은 이미 800만 그루를 넘어서 이제는 시민문화로 자리 잡았다. 이로 인해 도심 내 열섬현상을 완화시키는 효과도 크다는데....
더불어 과학기술도시답게 신재생에너지기술의 확대보급이 적극 추진되고 있다!
또한 도시녹화정책의 일환으로 차도의 폭을 줄여 자전거도로를 만들었으며 시민 전체를 자전거 보험에 가입해 안전성을 높이는 등 자전거타기 생활화로 녹색 교통도시로 자리매김하고 있는 친환경 도시 대전!
그린으로 승부를 거는 대전으로 떠나본다.
