백령도는 새들의 낙원이다.
백령(白翎)이란 이름은 흰 새의 날개를 뜻한다.
예로부터 봄이면 철새의 보금자리인 백령도로 찾아와 번식을 하고, 여름이 되면 돌아가는 괭이갈매기. 분단의 경계선을 넘어 온 괭이갈매기의 생태를 낱낱이 살펴본다.
그리고 긴 목으로 사랑의 춤을 추는 쇠가마우지와 전 세계에서 두 곳뿐인 규사토 해변으로 비행기 이착륙이 가능한 ‘천연 비행장’ 사곶 해변(천연기념물 제391호)을 찾은 검은머리물떼새(천연기념물 제326호)까지...

Baekryongdo is a paradise of birds.
