백령도에서 장산곶은 15km이내의 근접지역으로 장산곶과 백령도 사이에 북방한계선(NLL)이 있다.
아직 겨울 추위가 남아있는 초봄, 천연기념물 제507호인 백령도 남포리 습곡구조에 천연기념물 제323호인 매가 둥지를 틀고 알을 낳는다.
쉴 틈 없이 먹잇감을 사냥해 새끼들에게 먹이를 건네는 어미 매는 새끼를 독립시켜야 할 시기가 오면 가차 없이 둥지에서 새끼 매를 쫓아낸다.
분단의 경계선을 넘어 번식을 하기 위해 백령도를 찾은 장산곶 매의 새끼 키우기 전 과정을 공개한다.

Jangsan-san, which has crossed the border of Baekryong-do,
