데날리 국립공원
데날리는 원주민 애서배스카 족의 언어로 "위대한 것"을 의미하며 산맥 그 자체를 언급한다. 1897년 지역 탐험가 윌리엄 A. 딕키가 대통령 윌리엄 맥킨리의 이름을 따서 맥킨리로 명명 하었다.
찰스 먼로 셸던은 그 지역 토착 종인 돌산양에 관심을 가졌고, 인간의 잠식이 돌산양을 위협할지도 모를 가능성에 대해 걱정하게 되었다. 그의 1907년 ~ 1908년 방문 뒤에, 알래스카 주민과 의회에 돌산양을 보존해 주도록 탄원했었다. (그 방문의 그의 설명은 사후에 "The Wilderness of Denali"로서 출판되었다). 공원은 1917년 2월 26일 마운트 맥킨리 국립공원으로서 설립되었다.
데날리는 다양한 알래스카의 새와 회색곰과 아메리카흑곰의 풍부한 개체수를 포함하는 포유동물의 서식지이다. 순록 떼가 공원 도처를 돌아다닌다. 돌산양이 산허리에서 목격되며, 말코손바닥사슴은 조그만 호수와 늪의 수상 식물을 먹이로 한다.
데날리 국립공원(Denali National Park and Preserve)은 알래스카 내부에 위치하며, 북미에서 가장 긴 맥킨리 산(데날리)을 포함한다. 공원의 면적은 24,585 km²이다. 알래스카에 있는 국립공원 중 글래이셔 배이 국립공원과 함께 가장 많은 관광객을 유치하는 이 공원은 하늘까지 치솟는 맥킨리 봉과 그 주위의 산, 빙하, 그리고 야생동물로 유명하다. 가장 많이 관찰되는 야생동물은 곰, 순록, 염소등이며 다른 동물들도 가끔씩 보이기도 한다.

Denali National Park
Denali means "great" in the language of the Aboriginal Baška and refers to the mountains themselves. In 1897, local explorer William A. Dickey named McKinley as President William McKinley.
Charleston Monroe Sheldon was interested in the indigenous species of stone goats and worried about the possibility that human encroachment might threaten the stone goat. After his visit from 1907 to 1908, he pleaded with Alaska residents and Congress to preserve the stone goat. (His description of the visit was posthumously published as "The Wilderness of Denali"). The park was established on February 26, 1917 as Mount McKinley National Park.
Denali is a mammalian habitat that includes a diverse population of Alaskan birds, grizzly bears and american black bears. The reindeer roam around the park. A stone goat is witnessed on the hillside, and a deer is fed a small lake and water plants in the swamp.
Denali National Park and Preserve is located in Alaska and includes Mount McKinley (Denali), the longest in North America. The area of the park is 24,585 km². Alaska's national park, Glacier Bay National Park, attracts the most tourists, and is famous for McKinley's soaring sky and its surrounding mountains, glaciers and wildlife. The most common wildlife species are bear, reindeer, goat, and sometimes other animals.
