금관가야의 지배층의 묘역으로 생각되는 이곳은 순장(殉葬)의 풍습과, 여러 가지 마구류(馬具類) 등
북방 유목민족의 습속과 유물이 발견되었고 통형동기(筒形銅器), 파형동기(巴形銅器)등 일본계 유물도 함께 발견되어 고대 가야 역사를 규명하는데 중요한 실마리가 되고 있다.
가야의 첫 번째 왕이자 하늘에서 내려왔다는 신화의 주인공, 김수로.
그는 과연 어디에서 온 인물이고, 가야를 지배했던 사람들은 어떤 사람들이었을까.
