낙동강의 제 1지류, 물과 모래가 어우러져 흐르는 내성천. 쉬지 않고 흐르는 금빛 모래물결의 자연생태가 공개된다! 경북 봉화군 물야면 오전리에서 발원되어 낙동강 본류로 흘러들기까지.
하곡의 모래톱이 아름답게 어우러지는 내성천은 전 세계적으로 보기 드문 자연하천의 모습을 간직하고 있다. 내성천에 아름다운 자연환경과 다양한 생명들이 사람과 같이 공존할 수 있었던 까닭은 무엇일까?
모래강과 생명, 그리고 사람. 잔잔하게 흐르는 내성천 주변은 놀랍게도 모래를 좋아하는 생명들로 가득하다. 특히 천연기념물인 흰수마자, 원앙, 수달과 더불어 모래무지, 꼬마물떼새 등이 한데 어울려 모래의 혜택을 나눠 쓰고 있다.
또한 사람들도 모래언덕 뒤에 집을 짓고 내성천 더부살이를 한다. 이는 내성천이 실어다 준 모래 때문이다.
내성천의 독특한 자연환경과 다양한 생명들의 이야기를 통해 자연과 인간이 조화롭게 하나가 될 때, 비로소 한국의 아름다운 자연유산 가치가 더욱 빛날 것임을 강조한다.

The last sandy water stream
The first tributary of the Nakdong River, a stream flowing with water and sand. The natural ecology of the wave of golden sand flows unceasingly! From Bokwha-gun, Gyeongbuk, to the main stream of the Nakdong River. The beautiful stream of Hagok's sandbars makes it a unique natural river in the world. What is the reason why the beautiful natural environment and various life forms coexisted with people?
Sand river and life, and people. Surrounding the calmly flowing stream of Iseongcheon is surprisingly full of life-loving sands. Particularly, they share the benefit of the sand with the natural monuments such as the white water, the jangang, the otter, the sand ignorance, and the shorebird. People also build a house behind the sand dunes and do the slavery of the river. This is because of the sand that Iseongcheon carried. It emphasizes that the value of beautiful natural heritage of Korea will shine more when natural and human beings unite harmoniously through the unique natural environment of the river and various stories of life.
