제주는 오름의 왕국이다. 화산폭발로 만들어진 368개의 작고 낮은 산, 오름.. 위압적이지 않으며 산담(서귀포 지역에서 무덤 주위로 네모지거나 둥글게 둘러싼 돌담)과 숲, 밭을 품고 있는 오름은 그 자체로 눈부신 풍경이자 대지의 예술이다.
오름 아래엔 ‘숨겨진 왕국’ 동굴이 많다.
지금까지 알려진 동굴만 180여개. 알려지지 않은 작은 동굴들은 아직도 무수히 많다.
제주 동북쪽 해발 456m에 위치한 거문오름은 화산체로부터 흘러나온 용암이 북동쪽 방향으로 해안선까지 14km를 달려가 20여개의 동굴을 만들어낸 근원지다.
거문오름의 분화구 둘레는 4.5km로 한라산 백록담의 3배에 이를 정도로 화산 폭발의 규모가 컸다. 큰 규모의 거문오름 용암동굴계는 자연사적 가치가 인정되어 2006년 세계자연유산으로 등재됐다. 용천동굴은 용암동굴이면서도 종유석과 석주 등이 잘 발달했고, ‘천년의 호수’등이 장관으로 꼽힌다.
헬리캠 영상으로 기록한 거문오름의 365일, 그리고 벵뒤굴-웃산전굴-만장굴-김녕굴-용천-당처물-남지미동굴 등 14km 구간을 대탐사한다.

Volcanic Island Green Cover Gullwing 1 year old and lava cave exploration
Jeju is the kingdom of ascension. 368 small, low mountains made up of volcanic eruptions, ascending .. Located at 456 meters above sea level northeast of Jeju Island, Geomun Oul is a source of lava flows from the volcano, which ran 14 kilometers to the coastline in the northeast direction, creating more than 20 caves.
The volcanic eruption was large enough to cover the crater of Gurmam Orum at 4.5km, which is three times that of Halla Mountain. The large scale gullwing lava lava cave system was recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2006 by recognizing the natural historical value. The Yongcheon cave is a lava cave, but the stalactites and stalagmites are well developed, and the 'Millennial lake' is considered as a spectacular place.
